Modern agriculture is aimed at producing plentiful food, at a reasonable price, all year round. This can only be achieved by relying on pesticides to protect crops from insect pests, weeds and fungal infestations during growth as well as during post harvest storage.

Unfortunately, uncontrolled use of pesticides can have negative effects on people, wildlife and the environment.

Due to the extent and heterogenity of the pesticide family, their analysis is a challenging application for any laboratory, which is furthermore amplified by the fact that detection is required at low to very low levels.

Pesticide methods generally encompass a generic extraction procedure, none or little cleanup and an analytical system that permits specific detection of the target compounds with a short cycle time.

In order to address the growing need for dedicated pesticide solutions, we have installed Pest Lab. Pest Lab uses state-of-the-art GC triple quad technology for fast, accurate and robust pesticide analysis without the need for tedious and other bias-introducing cleanup techniques.

Pest Lab has developed several analytical solutions analyzing over two hundred pesticides in a single injection, irrespective of matrix type and concentration level.
