Hands-on Evaluation of the Almsco BenchTOF-dx time-of-flight MS

ALMSCO is a division of Markes International, the UK-based manufacturer of analytical thermodesorption instrumentation and associated sampling equipment, which is particularly focused on the development of innovative measurement technologies, specifically time-of-flight (TOF) MS, and associated data analysis software. ALMSCO has recently introduced the BenchTOF-dx, a low-cost, bench-top TOF MS, compatible with any GC and offering typical SIM sensitivity in full scan mode.

The Interscience Expert Center has had a unit at its disposal during several months at the end of 2008. During this period we have thoroughly evaluated the system for several applications which ranged from standard, over ultrafast separations to comprehensive 2D GC.

During the session, a detailed overview of our results was combined with a technical presentation by the ALMSCO engineers. In total over 20 participants attended this meeting.
